What we handle

Your Irvine electrician for townhomes, condos and houses

A townhouse garage with room for one charger and two cars is a typical Irvine question. So is an under-cabinet light that flickers when dimmed and an office that needs power in the floor. The people who call us live in houses, condos and small commercial spaces, and many have an association to ask before anything is mounted on a wall.

Red Electricians is a licensed and insured electrical contractor, and we will tell you on the phone what your job is likely to need. Browse every area we serve to see how far our service area reaches.

Local conditions

Irvine garages, associations and planned-community wiring

In many Irvine townhouses the garage wall is shared or owned by an association, and a charger that needs surface conduit may need approval first. On the Irvine job described below, the association approved a surface conduit route and we laid out two parking spots to share one circuit.

That is why we ask early whether your home is in an association, and why a photo of the garage and panel helps before we schedule.

Field notes

Two EV chargers, one garage: a case study and technician note

✓ Completed Nov 8, 2024

Two EV chargers, one garage

An Irvine townhouse had one EV outlet and a second car on the way. The household did not want an expensive service upgrade. A load calculation showed there was not enough capacity for two unrestricted chargers, so we installed listed load-management equipment that splits the current between the two cars. Both vehicles charged at once during the combined test, and the charging design and calculation went to the permit office, where the inspector was shown the demand controls.

Two charging points require a capacity strategy as well as a convenient mounting position.

Our electrician from Irvine

Our electrician’s advice: plan the cable reach for both parking positions before the chargers are fixed to the wall.

Under-cabinet lights that flickered at the lowest setting

An Irvine kitchen had strip lights that flickered only at minimum brightness. The control and the driver did not match. We fitted a compatible control and set a stable low end, so the lights stayed.

Floor power for a conference room

An Irvine office wanted power at the table without cables across the floor. We coordinated a listed floor box with the building, checked furniture clearance and kept data wiring separate.

Next steps

What happens after you call about Irvine electrical work

  • Call us, or send the form. Form requests get a callback in about 5 minutes.
  • Tell us the symptoms. If you live in a townhouse or condo, mention it, and send photos of the garage and the panel.
  • We agree a time and talk through the price.
  • The electrician diagnoses the problem on site.
  • Free estimates apply only to panel upgrades, panel installation, breaker replacement and whole-house rewiring. Other jobs are priced on the call.
  • The work is done and tested under normal load. For a charger, we can submit the charging design and calculation for permit.

Reviews

What customers say about our Orange County work

Irvine has no Google profile of its own, so we show no Irvine rating. Here is a comment from our Yorba Linda profile in Orange County, which is a different location.

Customers on that profile also describe lights that dimmed when appliances ran, which was traced to a voltage-balance problem, and a blown fuse that was quickly resolved. Read more on the reviews page.

“The team was friendly and made sure my flickering lights were working perfectly again.”
