What we handle
San Jose electrician: what we handle and how to request service
We do electrical work for San Jose homes. Tell us your address when you call, and we will book a visit. We have no San Jose office, so the phone or the form is how you reach us.
Many San Jose calls are about whether a home can take new electric appliances without a bigger service. Among electricians in San Jose, we start by looking at the whole list of loads, not only the new one. See every area we serve.

Local conditions
Townhouses, condos and electrified kitchens: what San Jose jobs involve
On our San Jose townhouse job, the utility closet had little space, and the household planned to electrify more than the range. That is why we ask for the full list of planned appliances.
We do not state San Jose housing-age, permit or utility facts here. Tell us if you live in a shared building, because an association may need to approve.
Field notes
Field notes from San Jose: induction cooking on a 100A townhouse
Induction cooking on a 100A townhouse
The owner of a San Jose townhouse with a 100A service feared that an induction range meant a full service upgrade. We reviewed the whole equipment plan, not only the range. A load calculation and equipment schedule showed the demand was manageable with approved load control. The package would have exceeded unmanaged capacity, but fit a designed management arrangement. We installed a listed load-management system and the range circuit the equipment specified. The control limited concurrent demand and the range passed a cooking test. We submitted the calculation and control specification with the permit, and the inspection saw the managed arrangement demonstrated. The tight utility closet was organized with service access kept clear.
Available capacity depends on the accepted system design, not only the number on the main handle.
Our electrician from San Jose
A home office that reset after a laser printer was added
The printer’s heating cycle drew a short, large load. We monitored the branch, moved the printer away from the sensitive equipment and corrected an overloaded power-strip arrangement.
A condo garage with two charging bays
We designed an approved shared charging arrangement with the association, checked cable reach and set an explicit limit for when both cars are connected.
Coverage
How we handle San Jose requests
San Jose is service-area coverage. We have no San Jose office or Google profile, and (408) 789-8574 is a service number, not an office line. Same-day service is possible in many cases. Otherwise it is the next day or within a few days.

Common questions
San Jose electrician questions
Do I need a bigger panel for an induction range?
Not always. In our San Jose job, a listed load-management system limited the demand. Load management is a designed control arrangement, not just a smaller breaker. See electrical panel upgrade.
Does Red have an office in San Jose?
No. San Jose is service-area coverage.
What does an estimate cost?
Free estimates apply only to panel upgrades, panel installation, breaker replacement and whole-house rewiring. Other work is quoted on the phone.
Are Red’s electricians licensed?
Yes. We are a licensed electrician, and Red Electricians is licensed and insured. We offer a standard warranty on our work. Ask your technician for the details when you call.
What if it is urgent?
Call us. See our emergency electrician page. Emergency work starts from $99 per hour; your cost may differ. We do not promise a response time before we hear about the job. More answers are on our FAQ page.
