Overview

Electrical help for homeowners, renters and landlords

A good residential electrician starts by asking what you are trying to do with the room, not just what has broken. We repair what has failed, add what you need and upgrade what is worn out. Each job has its own page, so you can see what we do and what it starts at. A residential service call starts from $49, and you can call (213) 322-0128 to book. See our full range of electrical services for everything in one list.

Who this page is for

Owners of houses and condos, renters who book through their landlord, and landlords who look after rental homes. If you manage a shop or an office, see our commercial electrical services.

The visit

How a home electrical visit works

  • Call us, or send the form. A form request gets a callback in about 5 minutes.
  • Tell us what is happening, and which service you think applies. If you are not sure, we will help you choose.
  • We agree a time, and we confirm the window on the call. Same-day service is possible in many cases, and if not, it is usually the next day or within a few days.
  • The electrician diagnoses the problem on site.
  • The price is explained before the work starts.
  • The work is done and tested. Payment is discussed on the call.

Questions about whether someone needs to be home, or whether the technician calls first, are easiest to answer when you book.

Field notes

Field notes: room layouts, shared loads and switch plans

✓ Completed Jul 18, 2026

A home had a corridor linking several bedrooms, and the switch at one end was no use to someone coming in from the other. We walked the usual approaches with the household, revised the switch arrangement and fitted compatible controls. We checked them against the actual fixtures so nothing flickered, and the family tested the route from where they really enter.

Completed Apr 24, 2021. A family turned a spare room into a nursery and a study, and lamps and a computer ended up plugged in through several adapters. A survey found too few outlet positions and an existing circuit that could be extended. We added protected outlets and kept lighting control separate from the desk. The answer to “must the whole house be rewired?” was no, because the existing branch allowed a limited alteration. The relevant reference is NFPA 70 (NEC), 210 and 406.

Room use and furniture placement give essential context to a residential circuit assessment.

Our electrician

Our electrician’s advice: share the furniture plan before new outlet positions are marked.

A utility room with a freezer, a dryer and a charging shelf

✓ Completed Sep 24, 2025

The original outlets in a utility room had slowly taken on more equipment than they were planned for. We listed every appliance with the owner, separated the big fixed loads from small charging devices and routed the wiring before the new finishes covered it. We checked each supply with the real equipment. If an appliance is replaced with one of a different rating, the room needs another look.
