What we handle
Montecito electrical work for estates, older homes and outdoor lighting
Fountains, gates, path lights and sprinklers all put electricity close to water, and a Montecito garden has plenty of each. Add an older house with original wiring, and you can see why the calls we get here are rarely about a single bulb.
We start with a few questions on the phone, give you the price for your job and then send an electrician. If you want to know how far we travel from here, look at every area we serve.

Local conditions
Irrigated gardens, older wiring and large properties: local conditions to plan for
Water is the first thing we plan around in Montecito. A fountain pump in a watered bed, a gate keypad in the path of sprinklers or lights that fail after heavy rain all come down to a connection that was not meant to get wet.
The second is size. Estates have outbuildings and guesthouses, which means long cable runs and several panels. And the third is age. One Montecito customer on our Google profile had a 1960s home inspected, and the electrician suggested targeted upgrades instead of a full rewire.
- Whether irrigation was changed or extended recently
- Whether planted beds or finished surfaces must be protected
- Whether the problem is in the supply, in the final connection or in a low-voltage splice
- How old the wiring is and which parts of it really need attention
Field notes
A garden fountain circuit that tripped at the start of its timed run: field notes
A garden fountain circuit that tripped at the start of its timed run
A Montecito estate outbuilding fed a garden fountain that tripped the moment its timer started. Insulation testing put the leak in the buried pump whip, not the supply cable, because water had got into a cracked flexible connection. We replaced the whip and raised the connection above the wet edge, so no trench was cut across the maintained garden.
Separating the supply from the final equipment connection can prevent needless garden excavation.
Our electrician from Montecito
Reading lights in a guesthouse with exposed beams
The owner of a Montecito guesthouse did not want the exposed timber cut. We agreed a neat surface raceway line with them first, matched the controls to how guests use the room and checked for glare from the bed.
A gate keypad that dropped out after the sprinklers ran
A Montecito gate lost its keypad after each irrigation cycle. We found a damaged low-voltage splice, renewed it in a proper enclosure away from the spray and tested several gate cycles.

A question we hear on garden jobs: will fixing the fault mean digging up the beds? On the fountain job the answer was no, because testing narrowed the problem to one short section first.

Reviews
What Montecito customers mention in Google reviews
Our Montecito profile has a 4.9 rating from 57 Google reviews. Three of them are below, and the reviews page has more from our other locations.
“Our main power went completely out on one half of our house late at night, leaving our refrigerator without any juice. I was relieved to find a local company that keeps technicians on call well past normal business hours. The repairman arrived with a flashlight, identified a blown main link outside, and safely restored our power before midnight. Their commitment to helping homeowners late at night is truly commendable.”

“I grew uneasy about an old wiring safety concern in my 1960s home after reading about outdated insulation materials. The electrician inspected the attic wiring and recommended selective upgrades instead of a full rewire. Knowing exactly what needed attention made the situation feel manageable instead of overwhelming.”

“Our GFS lights outside did not work after it rained a lot. They got here, fixed the wires, and now the lights look even better.”
